Carpigiani was founded in 1946 in Bologna thanks to the success of the “Autogelatiera” by Poerio Carlo and Bruto Carpigiani and today is the world leader in the artisan gelato & frozen dessert equipment sector. Carpigiani Gelato University was established in 2003: today, the training school has 20 campuses worldwide with 7.000 students every year. In 2012 the Gelato Museum Carpigiani was founded as the first museum in the world entirely dedicated to the social and technological history of gelato.
